Kevin S. Duncan is an electrostatic discharge engineer and consultant with more than 25 years of experience developing, implementing, assessing, and improving ESD control programs in high-reliability manufacturing environments.
His career has combined hands-on engineering with program leadership, manufacturing support, technical auditing, standards development, training, and problem solving.
Through ESD Pro Solutions, Kevin provides independent technical expertise to organizations facing ESD control, compliance, manufacturing, and process challenges.
Effective ESD control is not simply a matter of checking boxes against a standard. Successful programs connect technical requirements to actual manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, personnel, measurement, verification, and quality systems.
Kevin has contributed to the development and application of international electrostatics standards for more than two decades.
Kevin has served as a Technical Expert to IEC TC 101 since 2006 and currently serves as Chief Technical Expert for the United States National Committee.
Experience spans the standards and technical practices used to establish, assess, and verify ESD control programs.
Kevin has been actively involved with the EOS/ESD Association since 2005, contributing to standards development, education, program assessment, technical administration, and industry leadership.
Kevin has also served in an independent review role supporting the consistency and quality of ESD certification surveillance audits, including review of auditor reports, findings, and opportunities for improvement.
ESD program leadership across advanced electronics, aerospace, energy storage, data storage, and high-volume manufacturing.
Directed ESD control across Tesla energy products and vehicles, including power electronics, batteries, inverters, automation, manufacturing equipment, packaging, and static-sensitive assemblies.
Led ESD control for high-reliability aerospace programs including lunar lander, launch vehicle, and advanced cryogenic systems, integrating ESD requirements with manufacturing, cleanliness, and mission-critical hardware.
Led global ESD program activities for ultra-sensitive data storage technologies, including standards development, compliance verification, equipment qualification, training, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
